NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE

Bible In One Year-Day 264 (Saturday, September 21, 2013)

Commentary: Psalms31-35. The psalmist’s prayer in chapter31 reveals his near death experience and he acknowledged God’s faithfulness in saving him from being destroyed. Many times, we don’t appreciate God’s faithfulness until we go through a fearful experience or dilemma. God’s silence doesn’t necessarily mean He has left us to destruction; it is to make us realize His faithfulness. It is to make us be on our knees just as the psalmist was. It is to get us to know God the more. It is to let us have a deeper understanding of who He is. It is to help us build an unusual relationship with Him through an unusual experience. It is to help us get an unusual faith that pleases Him and makes us enjoy His splendor; for without faith we can’t please Him and we can’t get from Him. It is to teach us what others don’t know; experience teaches the unusual.

Isaiah 55:8-10 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:”

Let us seek for the old path where we could find rest. Let us listen to the trumpet’s sound, wherewith we could escape the calamity to come. Our reading for today is Psalms36-40. Keep the fire of burning and alive.
