THE DOCTRINES OF DEMONS

Bible In One Year-Day 252 (Tuesday, September 09, 2014)

Commentary: Job25-27. Job’s friends spoke powerful words which seemed wise but Job could discern that a strange spirit was actually speaking through them.

Job 26:4 To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?”

It is wrong and quite not biblical to call the devil “foolish” The Bible did not at any time call the devil a fool but those who follow his counsel are regarded as fools. Job refused to be fooled with wise talks. This should be the position of Christians.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

Christians have been trapped due to inability to discern which spirit counseled them. They unconsciously listened to the wise sayings of Satan (Doctrines of Demons) and have been led into regrettable state. Job said he will never approve their wise words because of the spirit speaking through them just as Jesus rebuked the spirit that spoke through Peter, Luke4:7-8.

MLB Job 27:5 Be it far from me that I should acknowledge you to be right; till I die I will not sacrifice my integrity.”

Every Christian should pray for discernment of spirits otherwise they would be tossed here and there.

Hebrews 13:9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.”

Satan can preach very well and he could also quote scriptures to back up his sermons. Remember that the bible makes us to understand that he sometimes appears as an angel of light. This is his trick from the beginning and has not changed. He used the trick on Adam and Eve and succeeded. He used it on Jesus but failed. He is still using it on Christians. To remain blameless before God and steadfast as Christians, we need discernment.

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of demons;”

By our natural being, we cannot succeed against Satan; we need the Holy Spirit to help us to overcome his tactics. Jesus was led by the Spirit to the wilderness to be tempted by Satan. Jesus emphatically told His disciples never to go start any ministry work without being endued with power by the Holy Spirit.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses to me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth.”

The victims of his sermon are the weak at heart, ‘unserious’ Christians, ‘prayerless’ Christians, the religious Christians, etc. The integrity of Job towards God remained unshakeable even in his unthinkable trials.

MLB Job 27:2-6 “As God lives, who has taken away my right, and the Almighty, who has embittered my soul, as long as I live and God’s breath is in my nostrils, my lips will not speak an untruth, neither shall my tongue utter deceit. Be it far from me that I should acknowledge you to be right; till I die I will not sacrifice my integrity. I hold on to my integrity and will not let it go; my conscience does not accuse me, not one single day.”

The breath of God is His spirit in us and this is grace; Job wouldn’t let grace depart from him. All may go, beloved, don’t let grace depart. If grace departs, a man is absolutely empty.

We need to know that Job’s righteousness was not in the strength of his flesh, but in his faith towards God. He was in agreement with God’s judgment even if he had sinned against God and therefore wanted a Mediator and a Redeemer. Job’s faith and hope in God justified his blamelessness before God. Our belief in the Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is also in line with Job’s justification. However, we should retain our salvation by being steadfast in hard and difficult times.

Let us seek for the old path where we could find rest. Let us listen to the trumpet’s sound, wherewith we could escape the calamity to come. Our reading for today is Job28-30. Keep the fire of burning and alive.
