Bible In One Year-Day 279 (Sunday, October 06, 2013)
Commentary: Psalms106-110. There are questions asked by the psalmist which are deep.
Psalms 106:2 “Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise?”
Can anyone change the miraculous works of God? No! No one can praise Him enough for His immeasurable favor towards the children of men. God showed His mightiness through miraculous acts as He led them through the journey to the Promised Land. When a man embarks on the journey of destiny, it is not always through smooth paths but through paths full of serpents and scorpions. It is through the experience with the agents of death that the miraculous acts of God are manifested. In this is God letting them know that He is in charge of the affairs of men. What He wants us to know and understand is that nothing can utter the work of God; not even the serpents and the scorpions. He is there and ever faithful. However, the condition is for you not to deviate from righteous dealings.
Psalms 106:3 “Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.”
In your journey of destiny, guide against compromising righteousness. The serpents are there and the scorpions are all over. However, the grace to overcome is always available in your uncompromising walk with God and in this is God glorified by His miraculous acts that cannot be uttered. God purposed that route for the Israelite to destiny, therefore, the serpents and the scorpions could not utter it; it is a divine order. No one can change divine order; that is the intention of the psalmist in asking the question.
The opposite of the details of your destiny is what you will go through on the route. Joseph’s destiny carried leadership; he passed through the path of servant-hood where he learnt proper relationship with people. These serpents and scorpions represent the opposites of what your destiny means. You must graduate in it before you are handed the destiny. If your destiny carries praise, then don’t be distracted by persecutions and condemnations; you will still be praised, it cannot be change. It is a divine order. Has your name been circulated on pages of newspaper for what you did not do? For as long as you remain faithful and righteous to God, His miraculous acts will make you known at the right time. Joseph was falsely accused of trying to rape his master’s wife; no fair hearing was given to him by his master but was thrown into the prison. That was God’s path He chose for him. By the time he graduated, the ceremony was done in the palace of the king. Unfortunately, Potiphar was not given invitation, neither was any chair provided for him; his name was never mentioned again in the Bible. This is the act of God that could not be changed. Halleluyah!
Let us seek for the old path where we could find rest. Let us listen to the trumpet’s sound, wherewith we could escape the calamity to come. Our reading for today is Psalms111-115. Keep the fire of burning and alive.
