LACK OF LOVE IS SICKNESS OF THE BODY

Bible In One Year-Day 209 (Monday, July 28, 2014)

Commentary: Song of Solomon5-8. We could read the power of love in one of the verses of these chapters.

Song of Solomon 8:7 “Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.

The love of Christ for us is far stronger than this and if we know His love, tribulations and perils cannot change our heart towards Him; rather we rejoice.

James 1:2 “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

Many times I hear people complain in hard times saying “why is this happening despite all my prayers and fasting?” Beloved, for the mere fact that things are not going as you wished does not mean God is not in it; it could be his way of concealing His plans for you. Joseph got his managerial training in the prison. And for the mere fact that things are going as you wished does not mean that God is in it; remember the rich man and Lazarus. Every step we take and every success we achieve must be checked in the light of the Spirit of God. God loves us and His love cannot lead us into what will destroy us. If we genuinely realize His love, there shall be no murmuring and complaints in hard times.

Romans 8:35 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Romans 8:38-39 “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

One thing God cannot do is to hate. Love is His nature and therefore hatred cannot be found in Him.

1 John 4:7-8 “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

It is the devil that cannot love but hate. Anyone operating under the anointing of hatred is of the devil, 1John3:8-9. This type of love which many waters cannot quench is what God recommends between brethrens and in marriages. This is our calling as Christians and by this we could obtain blessings.

1 Peter 3:7-9 “Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

Let us love as Christ loves. God cannot entrust anyone with His power if His love is not in him or her. The last commandment Christ left for His follower is to love one another by which people can know us as His disciples. The only thing that distinguishes a genuine Christian from other people who are not Christians is not the Bible in the hand or the church he or she goes, but how much of Christ is revealed through LOVE. Unfortunately, churches fight one another in doctrines, beliefs, how much law is obeyed. General overseers and bishops are flexing muscles as to who is superior over another. The congregants are being led astray in hating another denomination. The body of Christ is sick because love is scarce; what is left now is ‘self’. Lack of oneness among Christians now is due to Mr. Flesh in the leaders. It is as bad as the leaders requesting God to seek their approval before He calls any other person. Christ is really revealed in the love shown to the neighbor and not the big cross on the neck. Many signboards carry only the picture of the preacher and the wife, the name JESUS is not good for the signboard. And if the name is there, it is written in tiny fonts while the picture of the preacher and the wife takes more than half the board. The question is “who died for the church?”

Every spiritual exercise must take its root in the Love for Christ and not in the flesh.

Ephesians 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

Without the love Christ as the bases for whatever we do towards one another, it will end up in regret. But if whatever you do has the love of Christ as the foundation, you will not wait for any return from such person; in essence, you will not be hurt if you do not receive any return from such recipient of the good you offered.

Let us listen to the trumpet’s sound, wherewith we could escape the calamity to come. Our reading for today is Ezekiel1-3. Keep the fire of LOVE burning and alive.

EXPRESSION OF BURNING LOVE

Bible In One Year-Day 208 (Sunday, July 27, 2014)

Commentary: Song of Solomon1-4. The Song of Solomon is a poetic book. It will surprise you that “God” is not mentioned in the book. The book reflects a deep relationship between a woman and a man. Reading for today is Song of Solomon5-8. Keep the fire burning and alive.

INAPPROPRIATE HAPPENINGS

Bible In One Year-Day 207 (Saturday, July 26, 2014)

Commentary: Ecclesiastes10-12. The preacher talked more about things that aren’t appropriate but are happening. He remarked that he saw foolishness dignified while the rich is debased. Also, he said he saw princes walking on the ground while servants are riding on horses. It will take a spiritually conscious person to understand these sayings. But if a person is not spiritual the first problem to be solved is to bring light into such heart. A person that is not having spiritual consciousness is in darkness. This is the problem with many Christians. Their axes are very dull and so they stay longer cutting down the evil tree in their lives; deliverance becomes very difficult and unattainable.

Ecclesiastes 10:10 “If the iron (Axe) be blunt (dull), and he do not whet (sharpen) the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.

What this verse is saying is that the value of wisdom is for you to first sharpen your axe before use, this is the only way to make it easier. The mark of a good Christian is in his Bible study and prayer life and his wisdom is to live in the light of God’s word, i.e. observing what he or she read. This is what he depends on and so he must be smart in these areas. The prayer altar must be in good shape as Elijah repaired the altar on Mount Carmel and the Bible study must not be compromised. The word of God brings light into your spirit and unlocks your understanding.

Psalms 119:130 “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

It is what you, therefore, have the understanding of that you will believe and use to pray because it will become the basis for your faith. Faith releases the power of the word and nothing can stop the result.

James 5:16 “… The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

When a Christian realizes that the prayer life and bible study is having some set back, he needs to quickly seek to sharpen it because the enemy has struck. When he or she realizes that there are more excuses or reasons for the lifeless prayer altar and confusing bible reading and study, he needs to quickly seek for help. There should be no excuses.

Ecclesiastes 11:4 “He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.

The best way to sharpen the axe is DELIVERANCE. Deliverance restores what has gone out of order; it disengages evil entanglement causing the problems in our spiritual lives. Deliverance overthrows satanic governance and establishes Christ’s reign in our lives. The preacher concluded very well, beloved. There is peace for whoever is ready to hear what the Spirit is saying.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Let us listen to the trumpet’s sound, wherewith we could escape the calamity to come. Our reading for today is Song of Solomon1-4. Keep the fire burning and alive.

CONSIDER THE END OVER THE BEGINNING

Bible In One Year-Day 206 (Friday, July 25, 2014)

Commentary: Eccl7-9. The scripture is full of life and wisdom. Anyone who wants to gain from the Bible should drop his or her own logic and take the Bible as the words are written and let the Holy Spirit do the interpretation for you to do the adaptation. These chapters talk about the beginning and the ending of an event with emphasis on the end of it. The Bible made us to understand that the ending is better marked than the beginning; the end reflects the genuineness of what you have done. I could imagine the scripture saying that it is better to go to where there is mourning of a life that died than to go to where there is celebration. The truth is that where they mourn ministers to the living better than where there is feasting.

Ecclesiastes 7:1-2 “A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth. It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.

This gives a clear interpretation of Psalm90:12.

Psalms 90:12 “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Samson was celebrated at his birth but he was a shame at his death; there is wisdom for us at his death than we could imagine at his birth. The death of Samson thought us how to stay clear of the ‘Delilahs’ hunting for our hair (glory and virtue). Samson died with his enemies and therefore had not any testimony to share. King Ahab was celebrated at his coronation but his death was a shame; the lesson is that a wrong choice of a spouse could lead to untimely death. The first official duty of King Solomon gave him fame but at his death, he became the most foolish man in the Bible. His life was contrary to his words and his reasoning was messed up by strange women. Solomon was so endowed with great spiritual treasure that there was none before or after him in that area of endowment. Unfortunately, sin broke the hedge of divine protection around him. Hear what he had so stay:

Ecclesiastes 7:26 “And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.

Not only was his life messed up, his works were destroyed also and anointing dried up. In all the three examples, we could see how unequalled strength was destroyed by unyielding and evil domineering influence.

Every gift you have must be cherished in the fear of God and not in self accomplishment. Undue confidence in self accomplishment could lead to self destruction and ignorance of the source of accomplishment is death. In many cases a lot wants peoples’ approval. And if they are not commended the way they prefer, they become so sad and feel berated. This also is vanity and loss of focus. No one is infallible, beloved.

1 Corinthians 10:12 “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

This is the more reason why we should not hand over spiritual things to novices and the inexperienced.

1 Timothy 3:6-7 “Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the demon. Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the demon.

Engaging novices in spiritual assignments is exposing them to demonic attacks. It is not enough to go through all available Bible schools and be trained in the word, but to experience the dealing of the Spirit of God; this impacts life more than acquiring knowledge.

Ecclesiastes 7:12 “For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.

In the dealing of the Holy Spirit, you will be TRAINED, TRIED and TESTED. Perfect wisdom is given only by the Holy Spirit, Isaiah11:2. The evidence is purity of conscience and singleness of the tongue.

1 Timothy 3:8-10 “Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. And let these also first be proved (i.e. TESTED); then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

All our readings of the scripture are about the beginning and the ending of the lives of people. The only person without the beginning and the ending is JESUS.

Revelation 1:8 “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

In Him everything starts and ends in Him. Either love, hatred or envy, death will end it and all will be judged;

Ecclesiastes 9:5-7 “For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion forever in any thing that is done under the sun

To make heaven is not a joint venture, beloved. However, to make hell could be a joint venture. Let us seek for the old path where we could find rest. Let us listen to the trumpet’s sound, wherewith we could escape the calamity to come. Our reading for today is Ecclesiastes10-12. Keep the fire burning and alive.

Ecclesiastes 8:11-13 “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him: But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.

LONELINESS: THE FIRST IDENTIFIED PROBLEM AT CREATION

Bible In One Year-Day 205 (Thursday, July 24, 2014)

Commentary: Ecclestiastes4-6. From the beginning of creation we have noticed that God do not approve loneliness.

Genesis 2:18 “And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

Loneliness is the first negative thing that was remarked in creation. Anything not approved by God becomes odd if allowed and amounts to foolishness and senselessness. This is the message of the preacher, Prov4:9-12. The tendency to fall is in man, but the help to restore and sustain is also through man. There are many advantages to companionship. They include warmth, security, strength, blessing, progress, enlightenment, help, deliverance and comfort. Oppression increases where there is no companion.

Ecclesiastes 4:1 “So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

Unfortunately, many have made their enemies there companion and have described their destiny to them just like Joseph who told his enemies his dreams. He lost the rule over his own tongue and that led him into serious trouble. To have a friend is not bad, it is the choice of friend that could go wrong and mess up a great deal of a thing

Jesus came to the world to be our best friend. While leaving, the disciples were sad because they thought they would never have such a great friend and wonderful companion like Jesus who understood their weaknesses and still tolerated and worked with them. He promised the disciples another companion and called Him a Helper and Comforter who would lead them into all truth. He shall be with them and be in them. He is the Holy Spirit. If He must be your Comforter, then let your words be few before Him so that you could listen to what He has to tell you. The preacher further warned us to be wise even in the house of God. The mere fact that you are in the house of God does not mean you should be loose in words. Uncontrolled words are sacrifices of fools.

Ecclesiastes 5:1-3 “Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil. Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few. For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.

Too much talk during the day could lead to series of meaningless and stupid dreams at night. It could lead to nightmares because if you narrated your progress to the enemy during the day, the enemy will come at night in the dream to turn the life upside down. In the house of God, BE WISE! The enemy takes advantage of a man’s carelessness.

Ecclesiastes 5:7 “For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.

Let us seek for the old path where we could find rest. Let us listen to the trumpet’s sound, wherewith we could escape the calamity to come. Our reading for today is Ecclesiastes7-9. Keep the fire burning and alive.

Ecclesiastes 4:4 “Again, I saw that for all toil and every skillful work a man is envied by his neighbor. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind” (NKJV)
