THE GREAT “I AM”

Bible In One Year-Day 277 (Saturday, October 04, 2014)

Commentary: Psalms96-100. No matter how rich a tenant is, he is still subject to the conditions put down by the landlord. The tenant is only totally free if he moves out of the building and his tenancy is terminated. Where can we go from his sight?

Psalms 96:4-5 For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.”

The devil was cast to the earth which God made. He is bound to the earth and therefore he fears and trembles at His word. He did not create the earth but was banished from God’s presence to the earth by the creator. The devil did not create even hell. There is no place to hide from God, Psa139:7-12. God deserves to be honored, respected, feared and worshiped because none matches Him and none supersedes Him. Darkness itself cannot hide from Him; it is like light to Him. No one has ever seen the whole of God except His Son; we as mortal beings cannot comprehend His mightiness. Since He didn’t create any other deity, then it means any other god is man-made through satanic suggestion and such cannot declare His glory. Satan is judged already and any of his suggestions is judged unto shame. Whoever, therefore, follows another deity is bargainning for shame.

Psalms 97:7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.”

Psalms 97:9 For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.”

On the other hand, whosoever walks after the Most High God shall not walk in darkness. In times of trouble, His light will shine for such.

John 8:12 Then spoke Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

Psalms 97:11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.”

According to Psa98, everything God has created has a way of worshipping and praising His Majesty. His righteousness will not be partial in favor of any injustice even though He is a forgiving God.

Psalms 99:8 Thou answeredst them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of (punish) their inventions (deeds).”

If any one is given the grace to have a glimpse of His glory, like Moses, such will thirst for His righteousness and will understand Jesus’ admonition in Matt6:33.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

His righteousness cannot behold evil and injustice. If He should mark iniquity, no one can stand. To enter His gates, you need to know how to thank Him for His wonderful works to the children of men and to be able to stand justified at His court, you need to humbly praise Him so that He could drop the charges and show mercy.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

Psalms 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”

Let us seek for the old path where we could find rest. Let us listen to the trumpet’s sound, wherewith we could escape the calamity to come. Our reading for today is Psalms101-105. Keep the fire of burning and alive.
