SIN: THE GREATEST DETECTIVE

Commentary: Hosea11-14. Do you know that what you do in the secret could become a garment round you when you stand before the Lord? Read this;

Hosea 7:2 “And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset (surrounded) them about; they are before my face.

A priest was accused before the Lord in Zech3:1-3. The iniquity of Ephraim was uncovered before the Lord and this affected God’s intention for them. The nation was full of liars, thieves and fraudsters. Many vices were standing against them; nothing is hidden before the Lord. The iniquity of Ephraim was so great that he was growing gray hair in it without knowing that he was spending his life in vanity. This is absolutely prevalent amongst Christians today. Vanity is the yardstick for promotion and ordination. The hearts of men are far from God even if they sang good choruses and preached like angels. Programs are organized to display the eloquence of motivational speakers and to serve tables. Prayers are from the bitterness of the heart and not in the spirit.

Hosea 7:14 “And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they rebel against me.

Ministers’ retreats must be with three square meals otherwise there will be insignificant turnout; it used to be with fasting and prayers. The glory of God that used to be experienced in prayer meetings is departed and replaced with entertainment; this is because the fraudsters are multiplying as spiritual leaders and vanity is sown as cassocks. The pulpit is compromised as the messages are “feel good” messages. The claim of “born again” is not faithfully to God any longer but to the pastor.

Hosea 7:16 “They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: …

The ministers’ are deeply corrupted and lead people to increase sin, Hosea9:7-9.

Hosea 9:7-9 “The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred. The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God. They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.

It is quite unfortunate that the more churches we have, the more societal decay in vogue. Some say that it would have been worse if not for the churches. This is not true. We do not need more churches for revival, but we need revival for more souls which translates to more churches. Without revival, there can’t be genuine churches but money makers. Only revival can turn the world upside down for God as in the days of the Apostles. Places of worship are turned to den of thieves, atrocities multiply and the bible interpreted to suite felony against God. Romans chapter one is meaningless in terms of abuse of natural use of our body parts.

Romans 1:26-27 “For this cause God gave them up to vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.”

The ordinations in churches are mostly not of God but as approved by men. “God-fatherism” is a plague. There is the need for repentance before there could be revival. Beloved, whether we agree or not, the greatest detective is your sin.

Numbers 32:23 “… and be sure your sin will find you out.”

Mercy is, however, available for whoever repents.

Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”

Let us seek for the old path where we could find rest. Let us listen to the trumpet’s sound, wherewith we could escape the calamity to come. Our reading for today is Joel1-3. Keep the fire of burning and alive.

KNOWING AND EXPERIENCING GOD

Commentary: Hosea6-10. Something stood clear in the problems of the nations Judah and Israel; lack of knowledge.

Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Knowing God is absolutely important in walking with Him. It goes beyond what we acquire in Bible colleges where knowledge of other peoples’ views is acquired. Those are mere information and facts and one could be a master of it but still lack the knowledge of who God is. The experience of God is entrenched in the deep revelation of Him. Taking Apostle Paul for example; he never got his gospel or teachings from any man but from the revelation of the Lord Jesus, i.e. he experienced Jesus.

Galatians 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

A sight of Jesus for five minutes is enough for life ministry. Only Jesus can give you the revelation we are talking of as He wills; not even your prayer and fasting.

Luke 10:22 “All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

Knowing God is in receiving revelation of Him. Lack of knowledge of God makes one to follow human precepts; rules and laws which may eventually lead into strange doctrines, rituals and sacrifices. This was what Ephraim did and God was angry with him.

Hosea 4:17 “Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.

Hosea 5:11 “Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment (by human precepts).

Their faith in the Lord never lasted because it had no base in the word of GOD. God lamented on the instability of Ephraim when it comes to faithfulness, steadfastness and truth.

Hosea 6:4 “O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.

Children of God go into captivity and perish just because they do not know the God they have. If a man does not know God, all his deeds are never to that God but to flesh and another spirit.

Hosea 5:4 “They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.

We need to know the Lord not in the flesh but in the spirit by His Spirit. Knowing God by His Spirit is to have intimate experience of His glory, personality and being. Evidence of knowing Him is revealed in you and your actions and in the speech that comes out of you; full of power.

Acts 4:33 “And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

When you receive this awesome revelation, God will subject you into a path of “no comfort” which we tag “suffering”. This is to grind the received revelation into you until you become one with it so that when people see you, they receive the richness of Christ (the revelation) through your attitude or character. Joseph received the revelation, he went into that path, and he graduated in the palace of Pharaoh. Apostle Paul also went through that path, he cried to God to relieve him, but the answer was “My grace is sufficient for you” You cannot escape a particular course in this path and that course or subject is called PERSECUTION. If you don’t know how to manage persecution, you cannot manage praise. Are you living what you preach or proclaim? Consider your ways.

Let us seek for the old path where we could find rest. Let us listen to the trumpet’s sound, wherewith we could escape the calamity to come. Our reading for today is Hosea11-14. Keep the fire of burning and alive.

THERE IS A PURPOSE FOR IT

Commentary: Hosea1-5. The meaning of Hosea is “Salvation”. The prophet had about 50years of prophetic ministry in the land of Israel, the northern part of the kingdom. God started with him by giving directives regarding his marital life. God’s connection to his spouse seemed to make no sense to an ordinary man, but God is a God of purpose. His steps to achieving a purpose might not be within human reasoning; however, a submissive heart would not ask questions because such knows that God’s purpose supersedes every other agenda.

Isaiah 55:8-11 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Looking into his marriage, we could see the purpose of God being uncovered as children were being born; each child was a definition of God’s purpose. The main purpose for God to use his marital life as an illustration was to demonstrate divine love of God for His people. The attitude of Hosea’s wife was likened to what the Lord’s people are actually doing against divinity. But God’s mercy and loving-kindness overwhelmed his judgment.

Hosea 3:1 “Then said the LORD unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

The ministry of Hosea tells us more of how to find comfort in God’s plan even if it seems illogical to us. That ministry also makes us to realize that God’s love is available for a repentant heart. We could see, also, that marriage isn’t made up of two perfect people but between two imperfect people and a perfect God. You may have a horrible past, from what we have read, you could still find comfort in God’s love and mercy, which is Jesus Christ.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Jesus has given us the ministry of reconciliation. The problems in marriages should draw us closer to God if God was there in the beginning of it. Spouses should stand as help to one another in times of need as Hosea stood to listen to God’s instruction concerning her wife’s profanity and promiscuity. God is ready to reconcile us to Himself at all times.

2 Corinthians 5:18-19 “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing their trespasses to them; and hath committed to us the word of reconciliation.

Reconciliation entails forgiveness and restoration. This is the ministry of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Let us seek for the old path where we could find rest. Let us listen to the trumpet’s sound, wherewith we could escape the calamity to come. Our reading for today is Hosea6-10. Keep the fire of burning and alive.

THE REVELATION OF DANIEL (DANIEL’S EXPLOIT)

Commentary: Daniel10-12

Daniel entered into a personal retreat, which ushered him into the deep secret of God’s agenda to the whole world. His approach to receiving answer to his heart concerns is worth considering if we want to get deep revelation in avery situation. Psalm24 says this;

Psalms 24:3-5 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.”

This was the position of Daniel which helped his victory in prayer. The greeatet victory a prayer could ever have is to breakthrough into the secret of the spirit realm because that is where the truth is. When you take action based on that which you discover in the spiritual realm, you are bound to get result.

Daniel 10:12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.”

Daniel approached God with a pure heart, a top secret was given to him. This is what the psalmist says in Psalm 25:14

Psalms 25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.”

To know God’s secret, humility and genuine thirst for understanding are sure prerequisites. God’s Secret cannot be given to a proud heart, nor to a careless person. No one knows the state of a man’s heart but God. Therefore, the discretion of revealing His secret is only with Him.

Deuteronomy 29:29 “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.”

God has secret, but they are revealed to those He has approved as His own; whose heart is not lifted up, nor careless with His words. Many are seeking for deep secrets concerning their situations but couldn’t get them just because the heart might be pursuing with a wrong motive unlike Daniel who gave glory to God for the revelation of the secret of the king’s concern.

Daniel 2:19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.”

Daniel’s heart was not lifted up. If you look into the life of Daniel, you will notice these attributes in his life;

  1. He loved the Lord with the whole of his life; he could not live out His presence for a day.
  2. He sought the Lord with a plain and pure heart.
  3. He was not double minded, but focused.
  4. He presented himself to God with humility of heart.
  5. He served the people with the fear of God in his heart.
  6. He was very much interested in God’s secret in every situation; i.e. he was more interested in what God has to say. Whatever anyother person says never mattered to him, even in the face of threats. God took delight in him because he feared Him more than he loved his own life. He sought God’s presence at all times. He was totally given to uncompromising prayers, seeking the face of the Lord at all times.

For you to begin to receive deep revelations, these attributes must be in you; no doublemindedness. You must humbly and fervently adopt the prayer of the psalmist;

Psalms 25:4-5 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.”

This prayer should be from a genuine thirst for God’s ways. if you really want the secret behind your situation to be revealed, have it behind your mind that it is to be used as God would want it used and not for your selfish desire or pleasure. The benefit of this is far beyond just knowing the secret, but for great exploits and for Christ to be revealed in you. Daniel expressed his experience in Daniel 11:32

Daniel 11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”

Paul’s experience is as follows:

Galatians 1:16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; …”

Daniel got the revelation of his own end. He prayed until he got the revelation of what will be his end; he will rise die and rise to his inheritance in the Lord in the last day.

Daniel 12:13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot (inheritance) at the end of the days.”

Beyond seeking for revelation of this present time, let us seek for the revelation of the end as well so that we could be more focused as not to lose eternity. If one has not received the revelation of Jesus Christ, such has lost eternity; until Christ is found, there is no eternal life but eternal condemnation and damnation.

Mark 16:15-20 And he said to them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken to them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.”

Beloved, there is a prophecy that has not been fulfilled but will definitely be on the last day; there shall be a separation of all (living or dead) into two basic categories. Where you will belong depends on what you found here on earth before tasting death or before the trumpet blows according to Daniel’s revelation;

Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”

Let us seek for the old path where we could find rest. Let us listen to the trumpet’s sound, wherewith we could escape the calamity to come. Our reading for today is Hosea1-5. Keep the fire of burning and alive.

KEEPING THE SECRET OF THE LORD

Commentary: Daniel7-9. Daniel saw a troubling vision in the dream. In the dream, he was troubled and decided to ask questions. He got a good angelic response in the dream; our God is not an author of confusion. The lesson remains that Daniel kept the dream within himself even though he was troubled.

Daniel 7:28 “Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

How much of secrets could you keep for the Lord? The spirit of Daniel is that spirit that talks only when God talks and this is why the bible called the spirit “an excellent spirit”. Compared with Joseph, Daniel exhibited great deal of maturity in handling divine information. Many cannot do this and thus are finding it difficult to receive deep revelations in the dream. It is good for us to be prophets, but if the mouth is loose, such becomes a parrot. Prophets talk only when God ask them to talk and not when they want to show that they are prophets of God. All these are based on the fear of the Lord.

Psalms 25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.”

Let us seek for the old path where we could find rest. Let us listen to the trumpet’s sound, wherewith we could escape the calamity to come. Our reading for today is Daniel10-12. Keep the fire of burning and alive.
